TIP #1: NEVER push to empty your bladder. In fact, just the opposite: learning to control your stream by stopping and starting it several times as you void will strengthen pelvic floor muscles and is actually a much better physical exercise than trying to push your urine out, which can lead to pelvic floor prolapse (meaning nearby tissue and organs can actually exit the body and require surgical repositioning back into place). Practice stopping and starting your stream several times each day.
